Considering the ICAN alternative, then this article is for you. In the eyes of Nigerian law, both professional certifications have equal footing. ANAN is also a member of the International Federation of Accountants (IFAC).

If you’re planning on writing this exam in the 2022/2023 section, then we will guide you on the estimated cost you may likely spend to achieve your goal. I have done a similar article with the institute of chartered accountants of Nigeria (ICAN). Below is a spreadsheet of the fees you’re expected to pay to ANAN.

KThree types of students in ANAN

To earn certification from ANAN, you may fall under these three students types:

  • Full time
  • Mature
  • Conversion

Full-time students are those that have a minimum HND Certificate in a Nigeria or other approved foreign university. They will attend lectures on the ANAN campus for nine months before writing the examination.

Mature students, however, are those working in companies and cannot leave their job to attend classes at the ANAN university. Therefore, their lectures will be at the state study center close to their place of residence.

On the other hand, conversion students are those graduates of universities and polytechnics but with no foundation in accounting. They will complete the conversation course before proceeding to full-time or mature.

Cost of ANAN program

The amount spent depends on the pathway chosen. If you choose the full-time program, you should have an estimate of 400,000 Naira. For a mature program, an estimate of 485,000 Naira (that’s close to 500,000 Naira) should be in your mind. For conversation students, 431,000 Naira is the estimate.

The costs stated don’t include other things like feeding and transportation within those periods. You may need to buy accounting and finance textbooks.
